Custom tactics saving, but when I go back to squad, tactic map shows 4-4-2?

When I edit and create my own tactic, I save it succesfully but when I go back to the squad, the tactically map shows a 4-4-2? Is this normal and if not where am I going wrong please?

You can t edit what the basic tactic map shows. It will always show 4-4-2 if the tactic you started editing with was 4-4-2.
But in-game the players will take their new positions, and the ticks and crosses will also correspond with the new positions rather than the basic map.
You will want to start with whatever tactic is the closest approximation to the one you want to design.

I remember a long time ago, some one looked at trying to alter the default tactics, because frankly there crap. I dont suppose one of you techncal peeps could manage that?
